First Friday Docent-Led Tour. Every First Friday of the month the Heartside neighborhood transforms into an active, arts-focused destination. Extend your experience with UICA during First Fridays with a docent-led tour of UICA’s galleries to learn more about the works on view. UICA. 6-9 pm.


Creativity Uncorked: Lino Cards. Greet everyone this holiday season with a unique handmade card. The beauty of linocut relief printing is you can create more than one! GRAM. 6:45-9 pm.

Artist Demo & Boutique Pop Up Shop. Four of our talented artists creating works before your eyes: Jean Allemeier Boot, Mandy Cano Villalobos, Eric Wieringa, Karin Nelson. Six talented Boutique Artists will participate in a pop-up trunk show. Artists include: Jennifer Surine, Sue VanDame, Christine Bruno – Town Hall Studio, Lynne Tan, Bill Hillbrandt – Into the Wood, Dana Albrecht – Sacred Fiber Arts. 12-4 pm.


Calling all Dr. Seuss fans and Whoville residents! Participate in the most fun 5K ever with the Who family of characters: The Grinch, Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, Thing 2, Thing 3, Thing 4, Thing 32, Santa and of course Mr. and Mrs. Mayor. The Whoville 5K takes place at 1 pm on Dec. 9 at Riverside Park and is for all ages. Participants get a Whoville shirt, finisher medal, Christmas cookies and hot chocolate.
