(Muskegon, MI) – Plans are underway for the 2nd annual Muskegon Summer Wine Up at Hackley Park on Saturday, June 12th from 2 pm to 8 pm at Hackley Park.

Twenty different wineries will be on hand, serving more than 100 samples of their various wines, according to organizers. Safety will be the key, according to Rich Berry from Cumulus Media - Muskegon, the organizers of the second annual Muskegon Summer Wine Up.

Cumulus Media owns and operates radio stations 98.3 WLCS (Classic Hits); V-100 WVIB (Urban Adult Contemporary); Sunny 92.5 WWSN; and Nash Icon 97.5 WLAW (Classic Country).

“In order to give people as much space as possible to keep everyone safe from the Covid 19 virus, we have spaced out our wine booths in order to give people as much room as possible,” explained Berry.

“Everyone will be required to wear a mask in order to comply with State and local Health Department safety regulations, so we are creating areas where people can have room to safely take off their mask to sample the various wines that will be available. We are planning everything with safety in mind for all the people who attend.”

In 2019 the inaugural Muskegon Summer Wine Up in 2019 attracted about 1,000 wine lovers to Hackley Park. The 2020 Muskegon Summer Wine Up was cancelled because of the pandemic.

“Because we are a relatively small event, we believe that we can utilize the size of Hackley Park to operate safely,” Berry said. “We are creating a really fun outdoor environment that will not put people at risk.”

“We think the Muskegon Summer Wine Up is going to be great kickoff to summer,” said Berry. “But safety is foremost in our mind with everything we are planning.”

"As things return to normal, we believe that people will love what the Muskegon Summer Wine Up is all about – a wine tasting event that brings people together.”
