What began a year ago as a walk-up ice cream window open only during the summer has become a full-service cafe serving breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Saturday and Soul Food every Sunday! Teresa Folden is the owner and head of this cafe bringing new life to the Boston Square neighborhood in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“Food that comes from the heart, and deep within my soul.” Teresa has been making people happy with delicious food for many years. She started cooking at the young age of 12 and since then has blessed many people with her personal versions of favorite, comforting foods. Her dressing, made from a secret family recipe will keep you coming back. And, you haven’t tasted sweet potato pie until you’ve had Teresa’s sweet potato pie!

Teresa has prepared food in many organizations around the Grand Rapids area, including the Salvation Army, Grand Rapids Public Schools, Wedgewood Christian Services, Greenridge Country Club (now Egypt Valley Country Club), Lincoln Country Club, and her previous enterprise, Zari’s Creations Catering.

“Our dream to give people the best” Teresa had a dream to open a cafe where she could offer her customers the best. “God has blessed me with good people in my life, and Grand Rapids is a place of opportunities,” she says. She and her husband Darryl bought an empty building in the historic Boston Square neighborhood on the southeast side of Grand Rapids and have transformed it into an inviting and cozy gathering place. The restaurant boasts a fully licensed commercial kitchen and a venue for events. The cafe is available for rent for events such as family parties, corporate gatherings, wedding receptions, etc. The commercial kitchen is also available for rent.

Give Teresa a call at (616) 214-7060 or come by for breakfast, lunch, or Soul Food Sunday!
