JEN SYGIT + JOSH ROSE

JEN SYGIT Sometimes traditional, sometimes contemporary, always imbued with a raw honesty- Independent Music Award winning songwriter Jen Sygit has released four solo albums, her latest “It’s About Time” was produced by long time friend and collaborator Dominic John Davis (bassist to Jack White, Buddy Miller, Steppin In It) and features guest performances from Luther Dickinson, Colin Linden, The McCrary Sisters and Rachael Davis. The album’s title track won “Best Americana Song” at the 2019 Independent Music Awards in NYC and Jen’s music video for the tune “Love is Wild”, won “Vox Pop Fan Favorite- Best Director of a Short Form Music Video” the same year. In addition to her solo career, Jen co-fronts the roots rock outfit “Lincoln County Process” w/ Ann Arbor based songwriter Sam Corbin, is a founding member of the all-female string band “Stella!” (whose 2012 freshman release “Sorry Stella!” was recorded at ValveTone studios in NYC by Grammy winning engineer Damon Whittemore and produced by Creem Magazine co-founder Dave Marsh) and is also a veteran session vocalist appearing on over 50 albums nationwide. In 2011 Jen added disc jockey to her resumé when she began hosting the weekly folk roots focused radio show “Eclecticana” on WLNZ 89.7fm (LCC Radio) Lansing, MI.

JOSH ROSE In any modern conversation, you might hear the term cloud used as a reference to a location where objects are stored: videos, files, pics, passwords, and data. The cloud has come to represent some hazy encrypted vault where technological giants hold the keys and where access is only granted to the few. However, Josh Rose grew up knowing a different concept of clouds and spent days wandering under them, wondering with them, and pulling songs from their gaseous atmosphere. After eschewing football coaching, Josh blew the dust off of his guitar and began to play shows throughout the Midwest for sixteen years and has amassed three studio albums, with more on the way. Josh Rose’s wistful songs allow all curious listeners to extract what they can from the cloud, to open the floodgates, and to share in the beauty of music, earth, humanity, and air. Every one of his songs is an accessible cloud: unique, beautiful, and ephemeral.
