Meet the student problem-solvers who are rethinking the way we produce and consume while helping power the economy of the future.

Wege Prize—an annual competition that ignites game-changing solutions for the future by inspiring college students around the world to collaborate across institutional, disciplinary, and cultural boundaries and create innovative ideas for a circular economy—has announced the five finalist teams that will compete for more than $30,000 USD in total cash prizes in the final phase of the 2021 competition.

Watch a livestream of the 2021 finalist teams — organized by KCAD's Wege Center for Sustainable Design with the support of The Wege Foundation — as they present and defend their bold ideas in front of expert judges and both live and online audiences.

Judges' Forum*: 2:30p.m. - 3:30 p.m. *The Judges' Forum is an open discussion on the ideas presented, the current state/future of the circular economy, and the role of collaborative problem-solving in addressing the complex issues of our modern world. All are welcome to join!

ABOUT THE AWARDS Wege Prize is an international design competition based in Grand Rapids, Michigan that recognizes transdisciplinary efforts to solve systemic issues in ways that also help power a transition from our current linear economic model—in which we take, make, and dispose—to a circular economy that’s restorative and regenerative by design.
