Increasing Acceptance and Use of Compostable Products in Michigan Sustainable Business Forum Webinar Series

Possible Solution for Michigan's Circular Economy and Sustainability

Compostable and biodegradable products are an important part of many corporate and community sustainability programs in Michigan. Occasionally controversial, compostable products have proven a successful alternative for single-use plastics and other products in closed loop applications, especially food service and event concessions.

Potentially an important solution to support the creation of a circular economy in Michigan, disposal options for the material are limited by the availability of appropriate composting infrastructure.

The Biodegradable Products Institute is a science-driven organization that supports a shift to the circular economy by promoting the production, use, and appropriate end of lives for materials and products that are designed to fully biodegrade in specific biologically active environments.

Executive Director Rhodes Yepsen and other speakers will share how improved public policy and operational advances could help close the loop for compostable products.

Featured Speakers include: Rhodes Yespen, Executive Director, Biodegradable Products Institute

Rick Lombardo, Senior Director of Business Development, Natur-Tec
