Nighttime Hoot & Hike

Join the Land Conservancy of West Michigan for a night hike as we listen for & learn about owls!

Join the Land Conservancy of West Michigan and local ecologist Joel Betts on a night hike at Wege Foundation Natural Area! We will gather in the Wittenbach Wege Center for an overview of owl species that can be found in West Michigan, their migration patterns, and their habitats. After this, Joel will lead us on a hike to look and listen for owls. We will even get to practice our own owl calls!

Please come dressed for the weather and activity – spikes (Yaktrax, etc.), trekking poles, headlamps, or other accommodations to make the hike easier are encouraged! We will be hiking in the dark on natural surface trails, which may be slick with snow or ice.

PARKING: Please park in the paved Wittenbach Agri Science Center parking lot. We will gather inside the building, and will then hike into the preserve together.

RSVP: Please register via the link if you plan to join us!
