Spend an evening photographing fireflies, the stars, the moon, and nature at night!
Join award-winning photographer Jeff Pfaller for an evening capturing dark skies and the phenomena that happens in nature after dark. You’ll hear stories about chasing rare dark sky phenomena in American public lands and learn the basics of astrophotography. Ideal camera settings, composition techniques, how to edit dark sky photos, and more. Bring your DSLR or mirrorless camera plus lenses, a tripod, remote shutter, red light headlamp, and your curiosity about night skies. We will be hiking into the preserve at night, so please come dressed for the weather and activity. Trekking poles, headlamps, or other accommodations to make the hike easier are encouraged! We will be hiking in the dark on natural surface trails to reach our photo destination.
